The Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Umar Akmal says there is only one difference between him and Virat Kohli. Kohli gets the support from his cricket board whereas he lacks that support from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Umar Akmal has proved to be an asset to the team whenever he has played. But because of some controversies, he has been ignored by the board.

He feels that the Board is not supporting the players which a player expects from the Board.

“His [Kohli’s] cricket board gave him a lot of support. They guided him and continue to guide him even now,” Umar told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “I am not saying that I was not given support. But you know very well who the cricket board backs and doesn’t back. I would request the cricket board to support its players. If you invest in a player, then don’t drop him before big tournaments.”

Umar Akmal was dropped from Test Matches

He has played 16 Test matches and his highest score is 129. In his Test debut against New Zealand, he scored 129 runs in 160 balls. He was the second Pakistani player to score a century on Test debut outside the Pakistan soil. He is the middle-order batsman but due to his satisfactory performance, he raised his position to No. 3.

Umar is an aggressive player who believes in hitting big boundaries. His last international match was an ODI, this year on March against Australia where he scored 43 runs but Australia won that game.
