Being In Bio-Bubble Means Less Time To Travel: Pat Cummins 1

Pat Cummins has been named the vice-captain of Australia’s ODI and T20I squad for the limited-overs leg of the Australian tour, and he said that he feels fresh ahead of the big series that kicks off with the first ODI taking place on November 27th in Adelaide.

Australia pacer Pat Cummins, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2020 in the UAE, believes that being a part of the bio-secure bubble has benefited him ahead of the upcoming series against India.

Pat Cummins: Benefits Of Being In Bubble Means Less Time Travelling

Cummins scored 146 runs with the bat besides taking 12 wickets with a best of 4/34 in 14 matches in IPL 2020.

“One of the benefits of being in a bubble in the UAE was we didn’t spend much time traveling,” Cummins was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

“A normal IPL we’re on a flight every second day, different city, so I think sometimes that can be as draining as the playing part,” he added.

“No doubt as well, the six or seven months we had at home (during the winter) put us in a pretty good place leading into the England tour and IPL. Coming in fresh to those tours it doesn’t feel like the end of the summer, it feels like I’m ready to start the tour and in a pretty good place,” the fast bowler further said.

Pat Cummins played in 30 Tests, 67 ODIs and 30 T20Is so far where he has picked up 143, 108 and 37 wickets respectively averaging below 30.

Pat Cummins: Hopefully Pitch Conditions Will Be What Australians Are Accustomed

Pat Cummins further said that he hopes the Australia surfaces gives a tough time to India batsmen with more pace and bounce on offer. Moreover, Virat Kohli will miss the last three Tests due to attend birth of first child.

Australia will be further bolstered by return of David Warner and Steve Smith in tests, both of whom were missing for serving one year ban for ball tempering offence during India’s maiden win in Tests on Australian soil last time India toured Australia in 2018/2019.

“If it happens I’ll be happy,” Pat Cummins said. “Hopefully the (pitch) conditions will be what we as Aussies are accustomed to. Hopefully they’ve got a bit more bounce and pace than you would a place like India so that home advantage might come into it,” he further added.

India will play three ODIs, as many T20Is and four Tests against Australia which starts from November 27.
