How was the experience seeing Shoaib Akhtar bowling for KKR and all the 60000 fans backing Akhtar when he was bowling to Sehwag? Indeed, it was something awesome. The Pakistani players played in a single IPL and they produced sheer entertainment. But after that, due to political and other security measures, Pakistani players did not able to participate in any more IPL. Even there were situations when Pakistani players were named in the auctions but none of the franchises did not go for any Pakistani players due to unknown reasons.

Recently there are some speculations regarding Pakistan’s participation in IPL 8. And newly appointed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Shaharyar Khan wants the cricketing nucleus, India to encourage “democracy” in the brief functioning of ICC. Presently, BCCI, ECB and Cricket Australia are proclaimed as the Big Three and most of the functioning of ICC is deeply influenced by the Big Three.

Previously it was decided and announced by ICC that there will be a bilateral series between India and Pakistan to take place in December, 2015. The PCB chairman said that they had already agreed on playing each other regularly from next year. He also added by saying that India deserves to have a special status in ICC and he hopes that BCCI will look after the interest of Pakistan Cricket.

It is a fact that during Shaharyar’s tenure in 2004, the speculations of organizing Indo-Pak series in Pakistan became a reality. At present, he said that most people believe that India-Pakistan series is way bigger than the Ashes and thus it should happen frequently. But at present, security still remains a matter of concern in Pakistan and at present Pakistan can only think to host a series against India in UAE.

He also hopes that BCCI will definitely allow Pakistan cricketers to take part in the next edition of IPL. He even affirmed that he will be talking to the BCCI bosses with the hopes to improve cricketing relations between the countries irrespective of its politics. He thinks that Pakistani players should be given provisions to play in IPL as it is one of the biggest domestic cricketing tournaments with even bigger prospects.
