The Indian Women’s team was on the verge of creating history in the World Cup final at Lord’s today but a dramatic collapse towards the fag end of the innings saw India lose the match by just 9 runs which handed the England team their 4th World Cup title. India had performed brilliantly coming into the final and had thrashed the 6-time world champions Australia in the semi-finals.
Everyone was expecting India to win and especially the former Indian cricketers were backing the Women in Blue to win the contest. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag who is a popular face in the social media circle had hoped for an Indian win like all of us and had tweeted about India’s progress and chances during the match.
You OK, buddy @virendersehwag? #WWC2017final 😂😂😂

Ahead of the match, Sehwag had shared a video where he congratulated the Indian team on reaching the final and gave them the belief that they will win with his words. Harmanpreet Kaur also responded to her idol and thanked him by saying that the team was focused for the finals and it was high spirits in the dressing room.
British journalist and television personality Piers Morgan who is known to tweet his heart out and take a dig at Virender Sehwag especially took to his twitter handle and sarcastically wrote to Virender Sehwag, You OK, buddy @virendersehwag? #WWC2017final. He is known to create a lot of controversy in the social media and it was no exception.
