Luke Pomersbach, the hard hitting left hander Australian batsman has decided to take an indefinite hold to his cricketing career because of the mental health issues. This has been confirmed by the Queensland Cricket.

Due to his mental health issues, Pomersbach is unable to play for Queensland or for Brisbane Heat.

Queensland Cricket Chief Executive Officer Geoff Cockerill said that Pomersbach’s decision has been supported by the Queensland cricket. He also added that doctor has adviced Pomersbach to remain all sorts of daily pressure of professional cricket . “ Luke’s health is first priority for us and all this will help him to recover faster”, he said.

Luke Pomersbach has shown his gratitude towards the support staff and his team mates of Queensland. Also, Queensland Cricket has put a lot of efforts to assist Luke in funding all the extra medical expenses. In particular , Luke showed his gratitude towards Stuart Law.

Luke has played 1 T20 International for Australia. It was very dramatic as he was called directly from the stands, where he came to watch the match along with his girl friend. He also represented Kings X11 Punjab in the IPL and was experimental in the first season along with Shaun Marsh, as both of them were bought for very low price.

He played for Western Australia before turning for Queensland. Also, he was the  Brisbane Heat’s Player of the Year in 2012-13, also averaging 53.87 in the Sheffield Shield last summer.
