Kevin Pietersen is one the most enterprising batsmen going around and his improvised shots have just been a rage. How can one forget the Switch Hit which he introduced in cricket, way back in 2008? Back then, the shot had simply amazed everyone and had become a serious topic of discussion.
A year back, England’s most destructive batsman had played his version of the Helicopter Shot in the Big Bash League for the Melbourne Stars. Pietersen is that sort of a batsman who loves to experiment and improvise his own game.
The iconic batting sensation recently played another creative shot in the Ram Slam T20 tournament in South Africa. Pietersen himself called it as the “Helihook”. The name was an amalgamation of MS Dhoni’s famous Helicopter Shot, and the Hook shot.
The stroke looked simply enthralling as Pietersen smacked a full toss for a mighty six. Check out the video below, to have a look at Pietersen’s very own – The Helihook.
Ladies & gents – the Helihook!

KP is currently the hottest property in franchisee 20-20 cricket. Next up for the South African born batter will be the responsibility to shine in the upcoming IPL, which he left midwy last season to focus on getting his place in the English test side.
