ICC U-19 WC 2018: Rachin Ravindra Shines as New Zealand beat South Africa by 71 runs

New Zealand restricted South Africa within 208 runs after posting 279 runs on the board at the Bay Oval.
New Zealand got the perfect start after electing to bat first with Jakob Bhula and Rachin Ravindra adding a century partnership to their double century partnership against Kenya. Bhula (44), who was a not fluent departed first hitting one straight to cover off Kgaudisa Molefe.
Finn Allen (27), who continued his superb form got unfortunately when he was sent back by Ravindra from a direct throw of Jade de Klerk. Finn’s dismissal saw the host middle-order collapsing with 5/30, the fourth of those to fall Ravindra for an excellent 76.
However, Dale Phillips and Max Chu played a 77-run partnership to take them to a defendable score of 279 at the end of their quota.
South African bowlers did a fair job as everybody got their name on the wicket list.
In reply, South Africa lost two wickets early as Matthew Fisher provided them with the early breakthrough. However, their second drop batsman Hermann Rolfes played a magical knock of 108 runs but couldn’t take his team over the line as he went out of partners.
Ravindra once again shines with the bat as he broke South Africa’s middle-order on his way to picking four wickets.
South Africa ended 71 runs short as they lost their final wicket courtesy a runout by Rachin Ravindra, who was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his all-round brilliance.
