Rahul Dravid Opines How MS Dhoni’s Cricket Brain Works Behind Successful CSK

Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, who is well known for his cricket knowledge, has heaped praise on MS Dhoni’s instinctive brain. He has credited Dhoni for the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) successful run in the Indian Premier League(IPL).

MS Dhoni has guided the yellow army three-times to the IPL title in 2013, 2015 and 2019. In the last edition, CSK also reached the grand-finale but lost the match against Mumbai Indians by one run.

Speaking at a webinar organised by the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Rahul Dravid didn’t doubt that Dhoni is the reason behind CSK’s top-notch performances. He said that the Chennai based franchise has one of the best talent scouting teams which helped them to get access to talented players.

Dravid further said that captain Dhoni relays on his instinct and doesn’t much look on stats and data which has led CSK in the right direction.

“If you look at the success CSK has had, they’ve got really good access to data and they’ve got really good access to people behind the scenes and they’ve run cricket teams at the junior level,” Dravid said at the webinar according to ESPNcricinfo.

“They understand talent and they’ve obviously got a good scouting process in place. But, what they also have is a captain who really understands instincts, ” he added.

“So, I mean, look, I know Dhoni quite well and I hope he hasn’t changed, but I know Dhoni is probably not one to look at reams of data and statistics.”

MS Dhoni will be seen with the bat after over a year in the IPL 2020 in UAE in September. Since the disheartening end of the World Cup 2019, he had made himself available and has been silent over his comeback in international cricket.

The coronavirus hiatus had extended his break from the game. Now, with the rearranging of the league, fans would be happy to see Dhoni again behind the stumps and taking some miraculous decision.
