Former India captain Rahul Dravid, barely days after playing the last competitive match of his career, went out to bat again and scored yet another century for his side BUCC in the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Group I Division II match at the HAL ground in Bangalore against Friends Union Cricket Club.

On the first day, Dravid was seen fielding at the slips and on the second and final day, he came out to bat at number five and scored a hundred. His century helped the team get the first-innings lead and three points. Dravid retired from competitive cricket on October 6, 2013 after the end of Champions League T20 finals Mumbai Indians, who ran away with the title. It was also the final competitive match for Sachin Tendulkar, who ended with a victory.

Here is what a fan described after watching the match live: “Days after Rahul Dravid’s retirement, he arrived at Bangalore (Dravid’s Home). His childhood club was in a bad situation and needed a victory in order to not get relegated to a lower division. Head coach of the team requested RD to play for them and guess what, he accepted the offer, played the match and the club got the required points to remain in the same division. I am not sure of the exact figure, but RD scored a century. There were just around 15 to 20 spectators in the ground. The venue was HAL sports club. He never made any fuss about playing for a team that is so out of his league, he never dragged media attention, he never complained about anything not just during this game, but in his entire career.”
