Virender Sehwag smashed an unbeaten 147 off 178 balls at the end of day 1 of Delhi’s Ranji Trophy match against Haryana at Lahli. Sehwag came to the crease at the fall of Varun Sood in the 17th over and lost his partner Gautam Gambhir in the very next over to Mohit Sharma. Mithun Manhas followed soon after as Joginder Sharma looked dangerous with the new ball on a green top at Lahli. Sehwag took his time to settle in as he and Rajat Bhatia negated the threat of Joginder Sharma and Mohit Sharma, batted sensibly and took Delhi to a good position. Sehwag scored his century off just under 120 balls and carried on his bat till the end of the day. Bhatia got out for 72 and was followed by Punit Bisht and Shivam Sharma to the pavilion which left Delhi at 278-7 at the end of day 1. Sehwag remained unbeaten on 147 off 178 balls with 16 fours and one six.
