The head coach of Indian Cricket team Ravi Shastri has been spotted at the well-known Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram ahead of the series decider against the Kiwis on Tuesday. The former India cricketer spent some time at the shrine and also performed various rituals before heading back to the team hotel. However, this is not the first the former India cricketer has visited this temple. Ravi Shastri was seen with his mother here, four years back.
Ravi Shastri’s boys will fight hard to secure a win in Thiruvananthapuram, which will be their third T20I series win in a span o five years. However, the touring New Zealand side will leave no stones unturned to register a win, keeping their T20I record against India in mind. It will be an intriguing battle to watch for the one last time before they fly back to New Zealand.
India won the first of the three-match series breaking the jinx against the New Zealand side in Delhi as they beat them by 53 runs with some brilliant batting display by Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma giving India a solid start at the top. However, New Zealand bounced back in the second match at Rajkot to beat India by 40 runs. Colin Munro was in great touch as he scored his maiden century in T20I cricket to hand his team an important victory. Trent Boult was on fire as he took four wickets to cut short India’s innings.
However, the meteorological office has predicted that rain can play a spoilsport in today’s crucial match. The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has assured that the drainage facilities are quite good and even if it rains the game can be started without any delay. The Kerala Corporation along with KCA and district association has decided to follow the green protocol for this match.
