Records galore as Zimbabwe registers their first ever win over India

Here are the list of records that were broken in the second T20I between India and Zimbabwe in which the hosts registered a 10 run victory over India.

This is Zimbabwe’s first ever T20I win over India in four T20I matches.

This is Zimbabwe’s first ever T20I win at the Harare Sports Club.

Chamu Chibhabha becomes the first Zimbabwe batsman to score a T20I fifty against India.

India’s Sanju Samson made his T20I debut for India.

This is Zimbabwe’s third T20I victory against a Test playing side. The other two were against Australia I the 2007 World T20 and against Bangladesh in 2013.

Chamu Chibhabha’s 67 is his highest T20I score and the highest individual score for a Zimbabwe batsman against India. The previous best was 45 by Tatenda Taibu way back in 2010.

Sikanda Raza became the fourth T20I captain for Zimbabwe. Elton Chigumbura, Brendan Taylor and Prosper Utseya were the other three to have led Zimbabwe in T20Is.

Sikander Raza also became the first Zimbabwe skipper to win a match on his captaincy debut.

135-9 is the second lowest total for a team that has batted 20 overs against Zimbabwe. The lowest was 79-7 by West Indies in 2010.

3-18 is the best bowling figure by a Zimbabwe bowler against India. The previous best was Christopher Mpofu’s 3-33 a couple of days back.
