Rohit Sharma’s Four Interesting Pressers Will Leave You In Splits

India cricketer Rohit Sharma, who has known for his blistering knocks, has also made the headlines for his hilarious and blunt press conferences. His crackling responses to media persons have been thoroughly enjoyed by the fans as well.

Last year, Rohit was officially appointed as the vice-captain of the team ahead of the World Cup. The mega event was the magnificent year for him as he scored five centuries and became the first batsman to do so. He has become a vital cog for the team, and his knocks play a significant role in defining the game for India.

Through his journey, Rohit has entertained his fans not only with his big knocks but also with his hit press conference. As earlier said, he has given funny answers at the press conference which nobody would have ever expected from the vice-captain.

On that note, here we have listed Rohit Sharma’s four funny press conferences:

4. “Sala Mat Bolo Yar Usko”

This press conference is after Rohit Sharma hit a maiden double hundred against South Africa in the second Test at home last year. In that Test match, Ajinkya Rahane had also scored a century and India had a good grip of the game. So, the Test opener was in a good mood and hit the best at the media person who had a slip of the tongue.

On Day 2, during the conference, a journalist praised Rahane’s batting and unknowingly, he said: “Saala chabuk batting Karta hai.” After listing this line, Rohit was a bit shocked and smiled. He said that not to call his fellow teammate “saala”.

After the hilarious reply, Rohit also heaped praise on Rahane and said that he had been there for the team whenever the Indian side has been in a difficult position.

3. “Agar mein Pakistan ka coach bana”

India and Pakistan cricket teams get very few opportunities to play against each other. Because of the political tensions, the two teams only face each other during the ICC events or tournaments. The last time the two teams met each other was during the World Cup 2019. In that match, India dominated the arena against Pakistan at Old Trafford, Manchester on June 16.

Rohit played a pivotal role as he smashed a brilliant 140-run knock to help India post a massive total of 336 runs on the board. But because of rain, the target was revised to 302 runs. Perhaps, the Green army failed to chase the revised total, and Rohit emerged as the leading force behind India’s triumph.

In the post-match conference, Rohit was asked that what would he suggest Pakistan batsmen come out of the crisis. Rohit gave a witty reply and grabbed the headlines. He said, “If I ever become Pakistan’s coach, I will definitely let you know. What can I say right now”.

2. ‘Don’t ask me anything from before 2013’

Rohit Sharma’s true talent came after he was handed over the position of the opening batsman by MS Dhoni in 2013. Before that, he played as a middle-order batsman and was not so known cricketer in India though he played some effective innings.

In 2018 against South Africa, in the post-match conference, he gave a hilarious reply to journalists. And one of them in regard to his success after 2013. He said ” Since 2013, I have started to open the innings. So, don’t take into consideration whatever had happened before 2013 just forget that.”

In the same conference, a media person questioned that middle order didn’t get many chances to bat because the top order completes the job. To this, Rohit accepted the fact and gave a hilarious reply,” If us top three are batting well, we can’t retire hurt and come back to the pavilion.”

1. “There is Rishabh Pant at No.4”

Pant had replaced the injured Vijay Shankar in the playing XI for the game against England during the World Cup 2019. And, it was his first game of the tournament.

While chasing the target of 337 runs, he came out after Virat Kohli’s dismissal when India was struggling to keep up with the asking rate and along with Rohit Sharma, added 52 runs for the third wicket to bring the team back in the run chase.

Rohit was asked about Pant in the post-match press conference and whether he was surprised to see him bat at No.4 ahead of the in-form Hardik Pandya. The Indian vice-captain gave a hilarious reply to the journalist’s question leaving the room in splits.

“Not really (surprised) because you all wanted Rishabh Pant to play right? Right from the time we left India, you all kept on asking where Rishabh Pant is. There he is at No.4,” Rohit joked with the journalist.

India vice-captain Rohit Sharma was at his candid best while interacting with the press after India’s table-topping win over Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match at Headingley in Leeds. In that match, Rohit scored the fifth century of the tournament.

After the match, The vice-captain was asked to “say something” about the wicketkeeper Dhoni’s birthday, which was on the next day. Rohit came up with a tongue-in-cheek reply that cracked up the media room at Headingley.

“What do you tell someone on their birthday? Happy birthday only right?” Rohit told the reporter.

“We have our travel day tomorrow, and we don’t know we are going to Manchester or Birmingham. Accordingly, we will cut the cake during the bus drive. We will send you the photos,” Rohit added.
