[tps_footer][/tps_footer]Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in IPL’s history, leading the franchise in four title wins. He has credited MI’s team management’s hard work before every IPL season for the franchise’s success.
Rohit joined MI in 2011, but he was handed over the captaincy in the 2013 season after Ricky Ponting left the reign. With his strategy and willow, he went on to change the future of the Mumbai-based franchise. Under his captaincy, MI won the title in 2013, 2015 and 2017 and the latest one being in 2019 after defeating Chennai Super Kings.
In the latest chat on Facebook, the Bangladesh player Tamim Iqbal asked Rohit Sharma about his franchise. In reply, the Mumbaikar exclaimed that MI is one of the most professional teams that he has worked with. He also lauded the team managements’ effort on scouting players.
“They (Mumbai Indians) are very big on scouting players, Mumbai Indians is one of the most professional teams I have worked within my career so far, especially when I became the captain, I was chosen to lead the side during my third year with the franchise, I was given the captaincy halfway into the 2013 tournament,” Rohit Sharma said.
“When you become the captain, you are part of everything, you know what is happening with the team, that’s when I got to know how professional the team really is, they do great work behind the scenes.” Sharma said as quoted by Times of India.
Further, Rohit Sharma also disclosed how the franchise works behind the scenes. After a season of the IPL gets over, the scouting team takes a break for two months after which they begin their search for men for the next edition. According to Rohit, they watch each and every match going on in India to select the best players for the combination.
