When a player achieves a new feat, his family also celebrates with him. It is always an emotional moment for both of them. Recently, Rohit Sharma shared such experience when his wife Ritika Sajdeh witnessing his third ODI double century cried in the stands in Mohali.

On BCCI.Tv’s show ”Open nets with Mayank” hosted by Mayank Agarwal, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan had light-hearted chats. They touched a plethora of topics on cricket and also shared some interesting incidents about their on and off-field chemistry. Then the hit-man recalled his third ODI double-century against Sri Lanka and also revealed why Ritika got emotional.

Rohit Sharma said that when he asked Ritika why she got emotional when he achieved the milestone, she said that when he went for a quick single and dived while batting on 195, she thought he had twisted his hand.

“I just asked her why did she cry? She told me she thought before that, I think it was my 196th run where I had to dive, so she thought I had twisted my hand. That was a really worrying factor for her and she got really emotional because of that, I guess,” Rohit told Mayank.

This ODI double century is also close to Rohit because it came on the day of his wedding anniversary. Notably, Rohit is the only cricketer to have three ODI double tons in cricket history. He scored the maiden double hundred against Australia in 2013 and the two of them against Sri Lanka. Also, he holds the record of the highest individual ODI score. He had smashed 264 runs against Sri Lanka in Kolkata in 2014.

So far, Rohit has represented India in 224 ODIs, 32 Tests and 108 T20Is, scoring 9115, 2141 and 2773 runs respectively. He is the second-highest scorer in the shortest format.
