There is good news coming up for the captain of Mumbai Indians and batsman of the Indian cricket team Rohit Sharma. In terms of news currently running on the social media, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recommended batsman Rohit Sharma for the Arjuna Award. The decision to recommend ODI opener Rohit for the prestigious award was taken at the Indian cricket board’s Working Committee meeting held in Mumbai on Sunday.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur confirmed this today in a media release. Rohit is currently captaining Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League 2015 (IPL 8). The 27-year-old right-hander has so far played 10 Tests, 135 ODIs and 42 T20Is. He is the only batsman in ODI history to score two double hundreds. He holds the world record for the highest ODI score – 264 (Vs Sri Lanka on November 13, 2014 at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens).

Although Rohit has not performed so well in recent times, he is certainly one of the better players in team India. Hope this will boost his morale further and help him improve further.
