India’s recent outing in Australia ended on an extremely positive note as the men in blue slaughtered the Australian’s in their own backyard. India’s change in fortunes began after the fifth ODI in Sydney, where Manish Pandey played a dream knock to guide India home. From there on, it was just a matter of time before the Indians found momentum and got the better of their Aussie counterparts.
A vital cog behind India’s memorable tour of Australia was opener Rohit Sharma who had the tour of his life. Sharma was named the Man of the Series for his outstanding batting displays in the ODI’s. He commenced the tour with an unbeaten knock of 171 at Perth where he demolished the Australian bowling. He followed it up with a 124 at the Gabba. Agonizingly, both the games ended in losing causes, as the Indian bowling was simply below par.
Sharma’s blazing 99 at the SCG provided the platform for India’s successful chase in the last ODI. The Mumbai heartthrob carried on the good work even in the T20I’s. Sharma got India off to an absolute flier at the Adelaide Oval in the first game. In the last two games, Sharma scored two fine half centuries to conclude his best overseas tour.
During the post match presentation for the SCG T20I, Sharma was praised heavily by former Australian captain Mark Taylor and Virat Kohli, who was named the Man of the Series for the T20I’s. Hearing all the lovely praises, Sharma surely got excited as he began his own version of the Bhangra. The crowd loved every bit of it and below is the video of his dance.
