Recently, the 35-year-old New Zealander, Ross Taylor, has astonished everyone with his one-handed catch to dismiss English all-rounder Ben Stokes.

In the ongoing England tour of New Zealand, the visitors have already won the thrilling T20I series and are now playing the two-match Test series. In the first Test match, during England’s innings, Ross Taylor crushed the dream of Ben Stokes to score a century.

Ben Stokes missed his century due to Ross Taylor’s stunning catch

Ben Stokes was in the form and was nine runs away from his century. On the ball of the Kiwi pacer Tim Southee, he got the edge off and the bowl flew to the slip where Ross Taylor was fielding. Taylor reacted quickly and picked that ball in one-handed. It was a stunner!! He stretched his full body and managed to pick up that catch. Ben Stokes was also shocked as he also shook his head and went back to the dressing room.

Taylor redeemed his mistake when a day before he dropped a catch of the all-rounder.

The visitors were bowled out for 353 runs. Rory Burns (52), Joe Denly(74) and Stokes (91) scored half-centuries. New Zealand pacer Tim Southee was the most successful against the visitors as he picked up four wickets. Neil Wagner and Colin de Grandhomme picked up three and two wickets respectively.

The second day ended with New Zealand losing 4 wickets and scoring 144 runs. Skipper Kane Williamson (51) was the only to score a half-century. England bowler Sam Curran picked two wickets. Jofra Archer and Stuart Board were not able to open their wicket column.
