Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing 11 (RCB Playing XI) & Punjab Kings Playing 11 (PBKS Playing XI), IPL 2024, Match 6:

Royal Challengers Bangalore will welcome Punjab Kings for the sixth game of IPL 2024. The RCB vs PBKS match is scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday (March 25).

RCB will be looking to register their first win of the season after losing the tournament-opener against Chennai Super Kings. The Bengaluru-based outfit suffered a six-wicket defeat against the defending champions.

On the other hand, PBKS started their season with a fine four-wicket win over Delhi Capitals and will be looking to extend their winning start. Before the game begins. we are taking a look at the probable playing XIs of both the teams.

RCB playing XI:

Openers: Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli

Both Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli got the starts against CSK but failed to last long. While du Plessis departed after scoring 35 runs off 23 balls, Kohli was dismissed for 21. The senior batters will be looking to give their team a good start against PBKS.

Middle-order batters and allrounders: Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat (wk)

RCB’s upper middle-order failed to make an impact in the game. While Cameron Green got the start and scored 18, both Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell were dismissed for ducks. After their failures, Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik played fine knocks to help RCB post a 170-plus total. While Rawat scored 48, Karthik remained unbeaten on 38.

Bowlers: Karn Sharma, Lockie Ferguson, Mayank Dagar, Mohammed Siraj

RCB could make one change to their bowling lineup. They can replace Alzarri Joseph with Lockie Ferguson after the former’s poor show with the ball against CSK. Joseph conceded 38 runs in 3.4 overs and went wicketless. The other three bowlers – Karn Sharma, Mayank Dagar and Mohammed Siraj are likely to retain their spots.

PBKS playing XI:

Openers: Shikhar Dhawan (c), Jonny Bairstow

Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow will be eyeing big scores for PBKS against PBKS. Dhawan looked in good touch against DC and scored 22 runs with four fours before being bowled by Ishant Sharma. On the other hand Bairstow’s stay at the crease ended due to an unfortunate run-out.

Middle-order batters and allrounders: Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Shashank Singh

Sam Curran had a fine outing with the bat against DC. Batting at number four, he scored 63 runs to lead his team’s charge with the bat. Liam Livingstone also played a fine knock of 38 not out and finished the game for his side. On the other hand, Jitesh Sharma (9) and Shashank Singh (0) failed to get going and will be looking to do well against RCB.

Bowlers: Harpreet Brar, Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh

PBKS are unlikely to change their bowling lineup after the win over DC. Harpreet Brar, Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar and Arshdeep Singh are set to be the bowling options for the Punjab-based outfit. Against DC, Harshal and Arshdeep picked up two wickets each while the other three claimed one wicket each.
