With a total of 11 spots remaining, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had to make oodles of buys during the IPL 2020 auction and by the end of the day, they made eight purchases. Chris Morris, who bagged a deal worth Rs 10 Crore, was the costliest signing for RCB while the franchise signed five players at their base price.
Australian captain Aaron Finch is set for his maiden stint with RCB. The franchise spent Rs 4.40 Crore on the right-handed batsman. He is all but confirmed to open the innings with Virat Kohli.
RCB, surprisingly, bought Dale Steyn. They had roped in the South Africa pacer last year as a replacement for Natha Coulter-Nile. Steyn played two matches for RCB before being ruled out. He went unsold in the first two rounds of the auction before RCB made a single bid for him.
Kane Richardson, Isuru Udana, Pavan Deshpande, Joshua Philippe and Shahbaz Ahamad were the other players to join RCB for the next season of the league.
Ahead of the auction, RCB had released Heinrich Klasen, Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetymer, Akshdeep Nath, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Colin de Grandhomme, Prayas Barman, Kulwant Khejroliya, Himmat Singh, Milind Kumar, Dale Steyn and Tim Southee.

Led by Virat Kohli since 2013, RCB have managed to play one final in past seven seasons and will hope to do well in the upcoming season This time, they have a new coaching staff headed by their Director of Cricket, Mike Hesson. Simon Katich is the head coach.
