As Sachin Tendulkar completed seven years of his retirement on last Monday, Aaqib Javed called the Master Blaster the most impactful cricketer of his era and said he deserved to rule world cricket with the talent and quality he possessed.

Sachin Tendulkar retired after playing the 200th Test match that ended on November 16, 2013. His farewell match was an emotional affair not only for the batting maestro but also for the fans because it was the last time everyone saw him in the field in the Indian jersey. He was a massive contributor for Team India across all the formats with his willow.

“Sachin created a 100 percent impact on the game with the quality of talent he had. He held the numero uno spot in the game for several years as he was a seasoned cricketer,” Javed said in a chat with GloFans Q20 fan series.

In his 20 years long international cricket career, Sachin Tendulkar went on to play a staggering 200 Tests and 463 ODIs. He made the debut at the age of 16 and became the youngest cricketer to represent India. He churned out runs on every occasion for the team and became the first cricketer to score 15,000 above runs in both Test and ODIs.

Moreover, so far, he is the only cricketer to have 100 international centuries in his name. Current Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the only active batsman close to the Master Blaster’s 100-century record. Kohli has so far notched up 70 international centuries and is closing in on Tendulkar’s record of most ODI hundreds (49) with 43 tons under his belt in the fifty-over format.
