Sachin Tendulkar said he is pumped up to lead India Legends in the Road Safety World Series T20 tournament which will be played in Raipur from March 5. Sachin Tendulkar’s Indian team will take on Bangladesh Legends on the opening day.

Sachin Tendulkar is back on the cricket field and he seems to delighted at the prospect of representing India once again for India Legends.

Sachin Tendulkar: Stepping On The Field For India Gives Goosebumps

The legendary batsman will lead the India Legends team comprising of former recently retired cricketers in the Road Safety World Series tournament at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur as the inaugural edition of the T20 tournament resumes after being suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

Sachin Tendulkar took to social media to share his excitement over returning to competitive action and representing India in the Road Safety World Series.

“Stepping on the field for India always gives me goosebumps. Looking forward to playing for our country, and spreading awareness about road safety through the #RoadSafetyWorldSeries,” Sachin Tendulkar wrote on social media.

Sachin Tendulkar also shared a clip from his training session wherein he was seen sweeping and pinching off the backfoot with ease. Sachin Tendulkar’s India Legends will resume their Road Safety World Series campaign.

Munaf Patel took 6 scalps averaging 7.17 and is the leading wicket-taker while Virender Sehwag is the leading run-scorer among Indians accumulating 77 runs in the matches held in 2020.

India Legends Consist Of Yuvraj Singh And Pathan Brothers Besides Others Apart From Sachin Tendulkar

The Master Blaster will lead the Indian team filled with superstar former cricketers, including Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Virender Sehwag, Pragyan Ojha, and Irfan Pathan among others.

Sachin Tendulkar returned to competitive action for the first time since 2015 when he turned up for India Legends last year. He hit 36 against West Indies Legends in Mumbai but was dismissed without scoring against Sri Lanka Legends in the 2nd game.

India Legends won both the games but only 4 matches took place before the tournament was postponed due to a surge in Covid-19 cases. Sri Lanka Legends defeated Australia Legends who have pulled out this season while South Africa Legends defeated West Indies Legends.

Six teams would be part of this competition- India Legends, South Africa Legends, England Legends, Bangladesh Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, and West Indies Legends. The Australia Legends team decided to pull out of the competition due to the travel restrictions in the country.
