Sachin Tendulkar Wishes Happy Friendship Day to Vinod Kambli; Takes a Dig at ICC’s Boundary Count Rule
With ‘Friendship Day’ being celebrated worldwide on August 4, we’ve already witnessed sports personalities wishing each other on this particular day. Besides, in the recent past, the cricketers have taken to the respective social media platforms to wish their close friends. Meanwhile, legendary Sachin Tendulkar is also known for his strong bond with Vinod Kambli, who in between had a strained relationship.
However, the duo had moved on from the personal grudges and decided to back each other against. In their childhood days, the duo supported each other before rekindling their friendship on a bright note.
Also, Team India skipper Virat Kohli shares a good bond with AB de Villiers and Hardik Pandya boasts about a good camaraderie with KL Rahul. Besides, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara had supported each other in every situation.
Tendulkar and Kambli celebrate ‘Friendship Day’:
Interestingly, the school friends Kambli and Tendulkar were playing a video game. The duo picked their respective teams which comprised of Sachin XI and Kambli XI.
However, the game ended in a tie with Sachin scoring as many runs as put on the board by Kambli (28).
Interestingly, Sachin maintained friendship does not entertain any boundaries while taking a dig at ICC’s boundary count rules. Also, the rule has robbed of New Zealand in the ICC World Cup 2019 finale against England after the game ended in a tie in the super over as well at iconic Lord’s.
Thus, ICC’s rule pushed authorities to award England the coveted trophy on the boundary count. Subsequently, the rule had received criticism with Kane Williamson himself left distraught.
Earlier, ahead of the friendship day, Tendulkar had revealed a photo of him along with Kambli. They’ve clicked the special photo during their childhood days while playing cricket.
Also, during the video, Tendulkar addressed Kambli while saying no super over will be entertained, adding there is no room for boundaries in the friendship.
“Samajhnai walay kay liye ishara kaafi hai (a nod is as good as a wink),” Tendulkar said in a video.
Furthermore, the video has made it clear that what Mumbaikar actually referred to in a two-minute 22-second long video.
