Sarfraz Ahmad To Return Home Following Mother’s Illness

Pakistan middle-order and wicket-keeper batsman on Tuesday is expected to return home after his mother fell severally ill and was shifted to a hospital in Karachi where she is being treated.
According to a report, Sarfraz’s mother has been shifted to Intense Care Unit (ICU) in Karachi-based hospital.
Pakistan Cricket Board has stated that the 29-year-old Sarfraz would be flying home during the ongoing Australia series as early as possible to see his mother.
On January 9, lanky fast bowler Mohammad Irfan also flown home following the death of his mother and he has been replaced by Junaid Khan, who’s expected to join the squad on Wednesday.
PCB is yet to announce replacement for Sarfraz, who has been rested in the warm-up game against Australia XI on Tuesday. He was replaced by wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 22 off 22 balls.
Kamran Akmal is one of the contenders to expect a recall after his terrific run in domestic season.
The experienced campaigner has scored 1035 runs at the staggering average of 79.61 in 2016-17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Pakistan will play first One-day in Brisbane against Australia on January 13.

Australia ODI squad: Steve Smith (Capt), David Warner, Pat Cummins, James Faulkner, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Billy Stanlake, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, Josh Hazlewood (rested for the first match) and Adam Zampa.
