Sarfraz Nawaz Calls On Prime Minister For Complete Inquiry Of Management After Pakistan’s Loss Against India

Pakistan’s former fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz, who has been in news for all the wrong reasons in the recent past, has requested Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif to form a special inquiry committee against the team management to set the national board in order after receiving a hammering against arch-rivals India in their eight-team tournament opener.

“I demand Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to conduct an inquiry into poor state of affairs of the PCB. Pakistan team and PCB needs to be fixed,” Nawaz was quoted as saying by The Nation.

Sarfraz, who urged team to do well before the start of the India-Pakistan game last Sunday, felt the side hasn’t performed according to their ability while stating the quality players could have played their part more efficiently in the high-octane clash.

Interestingly, Sarfraz also held Men in Green head coach Mickey Arthur responsible for Pakistan’s124-run loss against Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue, in a Group B match on June 4 at the Edgbaston.

“Head coach Micky Arthur is responsible for the defeat. I feel the team under performed deliberately. Top fit players should have been part of the playing XI,” Sarfraz

Nawaz further went on to say that he has no hope on Pakistan Cricket Board’s octogenarian chief while stating such stance is not acceptable which puts country’s image at stake while going down without fighting.

“I have no hope from PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan, it is about the reputation and image of the country which is at stake, such humiliating loss is not acceptable to masses,” Sarfraz maintained.

The 68-year-old Nawaz has alleged that Pakistan has the national side has throw away the game by making grave mistakes while taking on arch-rivals India in the marquee clash which turned out to be a one-sided show in a rain-affected game.

Sarfraz has posed some pertinent questions while asking the coach and the skipper Sarfraz Ahmed for the brief explanation for playing Wahab Riaz over Junaid Khan and opting to bowl first when they knew the side didn’t had enough success in run chases.

“Firstly, why pathetic playing XI was selected for the highly important fixture against India and secondly, why an injured and half fit Wahab Riaz was preferred over Junaid Khan,” Sarfraz questioned.

The former cricket was also taken by surprise when off-spinner Mohammad Hafeez wasn’t given an over in India game adding Imad Wasim was asked to bowl too much as he felt the difference could have been made straight away.

Sarfraz has further admitted Pakistan has a pool of talent, but according to him, the national side should be picked only after due consideration while looking all the bases.

However, Sarfraz has effusively praised Pakistan for making a remarkable comeback against a quality side like South Africa adding the body language was all different which further witness the quality thought process on picking the team, as he is expecting such commitments from the management in the foreseeable future.

“I must give credit to Pakistan team for bouncing back in style against South Africa, but body language and the team selection made the difference,” Sarfraz asserted.

Sarfraz revealed Pakistan has high chances of beating Sri Lanka on June 12, while considering batting and bowling department is stronger than the Islanders.

The Lahore-born Sarfraz has featured in 55 Tests and 45 ODIs for Pakistan. The right-arm fast bowler has bagged 177 wickets in Tests and 63 in ODIs as he last featured in 1984.
