Schedule Announced for Australia’s Limited-Overs Tour to India

Australia will tour India for two T20Is, and five ODI’s, journalist Chetan Narula tweets. Meanwhile, the limited-overs tour will begin with a Twenty-20 game in Bengaluru on February 24th. The next match will take place in Visakhapatnam on 27th February. As far as ODIs are concerned, the first game is scheduled for March 2nd in Hyderabad; furthermore, Nagpur, Ranchi, Mohali and Delhi will host the remaining four ODIs.

India-Australia set for another series

Austalia and India are currently involved in the bilateral series Down Under. Though the T20Is and Tests have been done and dusted, all eyes are now on the ODI series, which starts on Saturday. The T20Is, however, got tied (1-1), as one match got washed out. But the Tests saw history getting created; as India triumphed Australia 2-1 in the four-match series, thus retaining the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

Meanwhile, both the former World Champions would want some match practice heading into the 2019 World Cup. After getting done with the ODIs against Australia, India will travel to New Zealand for the short-limited overs series, beginning January 23rd. For Australia, they will host Sri Lanka for two Tests, starting at the Gabba on January 24th.

Australia to miss Smith, Warner

For the second time in a row, Australia will be without Steven Smith and David Warner. As the ban on the duo will finish in late March, the visitors would have to field a relatively weaker side. As seen in the Tests, the Australia National Cricket Team suffered in their absence; and things don’t seem to change when they tour India for the limited-overs tour.

IPL 2019, 2019 World Cup in line next

The teams across the globe have a packed schedule in front of them. As the majority of Australia players and all the Indian players listed to play the IPL 2019; scheduled to start on March 23rd, the performance and fitness of them would come under the scanner. Though the Australia board has asked its players to return home post-April, the BCCI is yet to make any such call on the players’ wellness. Meanwhile, the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup will start on May 30th in England and Wales.
