Australian spinner Shane Warne has pleaded Cricket Australia to do everything possible to host the Boxing Day Test match at the MCG. India will be touring Australia in November for a two-month camp playing 3 T20I’s and 4 Test matches over the span of more than a month. The iconic Melbourne Cricket ground has been hosting Boxing day matches for a long time now and it is a celebratory occasion for the Australians.

The rise in Covid-19 cases in the state of Victoria has led to fears among the Australians that the match will not be held in the MCG. The third match in the test series of India vs Australia will be played from the 26th of December, clashing with the boxing day on the 28th of September.
