Australian Captain Michael Clarke and pace bowler Mitchell Johnson were the only current players from the current Australian cricket team to find a place in the Australia’s all-time XI named by Australian spin legend Shane Warne on Friday.

Shane Warne who placed himself in this Australia’s all-time XI list but left out the players like Steve Waugh, One Day International (ODI) expert Michael Bevan even while naming mercurial former all-rounder Australian player Andrew Symonds in this team.

An article on Cricket Australia website reported that Australia’s greatest-ever spin bowler and Test wicket-taker selected 3 1999 International Cricket Council World Cup teammates at the top of the order in Mark Waugh, Ricky Ponting, and Adam Gilchrist while former skippers Greg Chappell and Allan Border were inserted in either side of wounded captain Michael Clarke,”.

The team was selected while the Australian spin legend Shane Warne was doing commentary in the current India Australia Test series. Shane Warne was quoted saying: “A very good one-day bowler, handy bat…You guys told me to put myself in,” and he laughed.
