Legendary spinner, Shane Warne said that Virat Kohli is better than South Africa AB De Villiers. Virat Kohli has been in great form in IPL 9 scoring four centuries and 6 half centuries. Virat Kohli has scored 919 runs and helped Royal Challengers Bangalore to the finals.

This year, Virat Kohli has been in excellent form in One-day internationals and T20 internationals. De Villiers has also contributed to the team success scoring 682 runs. De Villiers had scored a match-winning 79 in the first qualifier against Gujarat Lions which helped them to reach their third finals.

“Even the innings the other day (113 against King XI Punjab), there wasn’t one reverse shot. There was nothing funky, there were just cricket shots. It needs an amazing amount of skill to do that consistently in T20 cricket.” he said.

“Kohli’s determination and finding a way during crunch games just puts him ahead of de Villiers,” he added.

“There is not much between them. But I think Virat Kohli just pips him.”

Warne feels that De Villiers outsmarts himself too much and tries too many unbelievable shots.”

“De Villiers is a 360-degree player. He plays reverses, the lapses and all those sorts of things but hasn’t really played too many of ‘those’ innings Virat Kohli has played,” Warne said.

Virat Kohli has been in sublime form for India in One day international and T20 series against Australia, Asia Cup T20, World T20 2016 and the ongoing IPL 9.

Virat Kohli makes the batting look easy and does not allow bowlers to settle. AB De Villiers plays inventive shots which make the bowlers think. AB De Villiers has scored big scores in the tournament so far.
