Shanon Gabriel and Kemar Roach Makes Significant Rise in the Rankings

Windies fast bowler Shanon Gabriel has moved up the rankings in the MRF ICC Test Players Rankings after the drawn Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo which his team won by a 1-0 margin. Hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, the 29-year-old pacer Gabriel who held a previous highest position of 18th earlier during the year. He bagged four wickets in the match and reached the 20th position which made him the highest ranked Windies bowler replacing Devendra Bishoo who is at 22nd position.

Gabriel’s partner Kemar Roach has also moved up four places to take the 23rd position on the table. The speedster finished with five wickets in the match. There was a big partnership between Jason Holder and Shane Dowrich, and they have also moved up the rankings in the Rankings for Batsmen. Their innings helped Windies by an innings. Dowrich reached 83rd position after gaining 17 places.

Gabriel is accompanied on the way up by new-ball partner Kemar Roach, who has gained four places to take 23rdposition on the table after finishing with five wickets in the match. Kieron Powell also moved up five places to move up to 63rd position. For Zimbabwe, it was Hamilton Masakaza who moved up eight places to reach 41st position while Sikandar Raza also moved up 12 places to a career-best 44th position.

Peeter Moor also moved up 18 places to 77th while Regis Chakabva also moved places to 93rd. Raza also moved up 24 spots in the rankings for bowlers after gaining 24 places in the Rankings.
