Shashi / 02 January 2015

Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik said that he wants to play in International Cricket Council World Cup 2015 but he wants to know about what part he is anticipated to perform.

Shoaib Malik played the last of his 216 One Day Internationals in June 2013, but was included in Pakistan’s 30 man initial team for the upcoming tournament that is World Cup 2015. Pakistan’s official selection committee is going to declare the final fifteen men team on 7th January after seeing some of the probables in the Pentangular Cup competition, which started on Wednesday in Karachi.

Australia and New Zealand co-host the World Cup from 14th February, 2015 to 29th March, 2015. Shoaib Malik said he wants to play for Pakistan national team.

He added that the International Cricket Council World Cup 2015 is a big competition and every cricketer wants to play in it”. He also told that it was painted that he does not want to play and he was frustrated over being left out but he always wanted to play.”

Shoaib Malik said he is feeling very sad with the selection process.

He said that he has a problem with the procedure and system because the cricketers want clarity on selection process and want to know what is expected from them and how many matches they are going to play because it always gain confidence when a player knows how many matches he is going to play. He said that players who know the conditions of Australia and New Zealand can play and perform best there.

He said he is waiting for his visa and if he gets it, he will leave for Australia, but if he gets clarity on his selection he can leave any league for his own country Pakistan.”

Malik voted Australia, South Africa and India as favorite for World Cup.

He said he wants to see Pakistan win but lately Pakistan’s permutation combination is not that good because of Mohammad Hafeez and Saeed Ajmal being suspended over unauthorized bowling action, so in his opinion Australia, India and South Africa are favourites to win the International Cricket Council World Cup 2015.
