GL vs SRH – New record for Warner, Kohli not even close
Warner has stepped down as captain of SRH

On the back of Karun Nair’s brilliance, the Delhi Daredevils got out of jail against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Raipur. Nair played an absolute stunner of a knock to get the Daredevils home on the last ball of the match. Delhi desperately needed a win in order to keep their hopes alive, and that is what they exactly got after some sheer brilliance from the young Karun Nair.

Zaheer Khan won the toss and had no hesitation in putting the Sunrisers in. The visitors got off to a flying start thanks to the ever-dependable pair of Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner. Soon, though, the Sunrisers lost steam and barring Warner, none of the batsmen capitalized. 159 was a tricky target but Karun Nair kept his cool throughout the chase, to get his side past the line.

In the post-match presentation, Warner pointed out his side’s sloppy fielding as the reason for the loss. “Fielding was sloppy. If you miss the chances, you pay. We thought 150 was paired and sure it held up but it’s a hard ground to defend. Big boundaries and Karun Nair played an exceptional knock. We have another game coming up and we have to refresh. We are in good form and we have to keep the momentum on,” said Warner.

Zaheer Khan was delighted with the win and hailed the optimistic vibes in his side. “Everyone wanted this win badly. Before the game, I said that we have had a great campaign and irrespective of the result, we will smile out there. We needed to win those crucial situations but we knew that we were going to hang in there till the end. Rahul Dravid is a bit intense in the dugout and I am a bit more relaxed. This season has been about the young guys who have been amazing. You have to enjoy the moments out there and embrace tough moments. This young side has been amazing,” said Khan.
