Smriti Mandhana Slips From Top Position In ICC Latest ODI Batting Rankings

Smriti Mandhana, who didn’t play the latest ODI series against South Africa Women, has lost her top spot in ICC ODI women’s batting rankings. New Zealand’s Amy Satterthwaite has replaced the Indian women’s batting opener to take the top position.
Mandhana didn’t play the ODI series against South Africa Women as she fractured her right toe during the practice session. The 23-year-old opening batswoman missed the ODI series against South Africa which India won by 3-0.

The ODI skipper Mithali Raj also slipped to the seventh spot in the ICC ODI women’s batting rankings. The skipper has become the first woman to devote her 20 years in international cricket.
In the bowlers’ ODI rankings, Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey and Poonam Yadav have also moved down to 6th, 8th and 9th positions respectively. The allrounder Deepti Sharma has also slipped to the third spot and Shikha Pandey who contributed with the bat on the third ODI match has entered in Top 10 in the ODI all-rounder rankings.
India Women totally dominated in the home series against South Africa Women
Indian Women cricket won the ODI series against South Africa Women by 3-0. In the third ODI, played on Monday (14th October), the performance of Indian Women bowlers were amazing. The Indian women batters were all out after scoring only 146 runs. It was the lowest score in the three-match ODI series played against South Africa Women this month.
The Indian spinners were amazing in Vadodra as they picked wickets of visitors at regular intervals. Ekta Bisht bowled very well as she picked three wickets. Mansi Joshi’s catch was amazing as it first slipped from the hand of Ekta Bisht and then landed on the hand of Joshi. The match was thrilling while Rodrigues took the last wicket and the team won the match by 6 runs. In team ODI ranking, the Indian team is in the second spot.

India registered its win in the three-match ODI series by 3-0. The home series against South Africa Women was successful as India also won the T20I series. At next, the team is scheduled with another task against West Indies. India Women will tour the West Indies and is scheduled with three ODIIs and five T20Is.
