India superstar Virat Kohli is facing some heat from England fans for his wild celebrations on the field during the ongoing Test against England at Edgbaston.

Virat Kohli was in his elements on day four of the Edgbaston Test as he showed the aggressive side of his personality. The former India skipper did not squander a single opportunity to get under England players’ skin.

Kohli celebrated wildly after India’s hard-earned breakthroughs on day four of the Test. Chasing 378, England were off to a flying start with their openers Alex Less and Zak Crawley firing on all cylinders. The duo brought up the fastest 100 opening stand in England Test history in 19.5 overs.

However, the game completely turned on its head after the century-plus partnership as India picked up three quick wickets. Jasprit Bumrah broke the 107-run opening stand by castling Crawley. And even before England could add another run, Bumrah struck again to remove Ollie Pope for a duck.

England fans berate Virat Kohli for his celebration:

India then made it three wickets in 2.3 overs as a mix up between Lees and Joe Root saw the former ran out at 109 for three. And the run-out was followed by Kohli’s wild celebration. The batting star went berserk after Lees was run out as he ran across the pitch, screamed and celebrated in wild fashion.

And while the Indian fans thoroughly enjoyed Kohli’s celebration, the same cannot be said for some England fans. Soon after Kohli’s celebration, several England fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure.

“Virat Kohli’s celebration there is embarrassing and pathetic,” said one England fan on Twitter before adding: “I’d be having a word personally, don’t like it. It’s excessive and over the top for no reason.”

Another England supporter wanted the officials to warn Kohli, writing: “Kohli should have been warned by now. Running up to the batsman to celebrate in their face. A great player, but someone who you just can’t respect when he shows absolutely none to anyone else.”

One disgruntled fan went as far as saying: “Someone give Kohli a slap please, full weight b****d. Gives a lot for a bloke who’s not scored a hundred in 3 years.”

One asked:

‘Kohli never wastes the opportunity to make any situation about him,’ a third added. ‘Total c**k!!!’
