Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, who suffered a mild cardiac arrest on Saturday (January 2), has been discharged from the hospital on Thursday morning.

After moving out of the hospital, Sourav Ganguly addressed the media to inform fans and his well-wisher that he has regained full fitness and thanked the doctors for looking after him.

“I thank the doctors at the hospital for the treatment. I am absolutely fine. Hopefully, I will be ready to fly soon,” Ganguly told reporters outside the Woodlands Hospital.

Ganguly was supposed to be discharged on Wednesday but it was postponed by a day after he expressed his desire to stay at the hospital for one more day.

In a video shared by ANI, Ganguly waved at his support and also provided an update on his health.

Before coming to his hometown, Sourav Ganguly attended the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ahmedabad where some crucial decisions were taken on the future of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the domestic tournament which had been postponed because of the COVID-19 breach.

Ganguly also played an exhibition match against the Jay Shah-led team in the all-new Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. He had scored a half-century in that match but it went into vain.

Fans will hope to see him soon doing regular daily activities as BCCI president.
