BCCI’s President Sourav Ganguly Promise Full House In Eden Gardens
India will experience a new ball game in the upcoming Test match against Bangladesh. The Indian team will play its first day-night Test match with the pink ball, not the red ball. The man behind to start the new tradition in India is none other than the BCCI’s newly appointed President Sourav Ganguly.
At Eden Gardens (Kolkata) from 22nd November, India will play the second Test match of the series against Bangladesh. The challenging task in the match is to play with the Pink ball. Both the teams have no experience in playing the day-night Test match as well as with the pink ball.
It will be a good wicket – Sourav Ganguly
The SG pink ball used in India is neither like Kookaburra ones that are used in Australia or the Dukes that is used in England. It will be a different experience for the players. Sourav Ganguly said that the ball will not only help pacers but the spinners will also get the advantage.
“It will be a good wicket. It all depends on how the curator prepares the wicket,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
It is expected that around 50,000 people will come to see the match on each day for the first three days. Many big personalities will also be seen on the special day of this Test match. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Home Minister Amit Shah are expected to attend the event. Sourav Ganguly has promised that it will be a full house encounter.
Meanwhile, India, on the first day of the Test match in Indore, bundled out Bangladesh on 150. Rohit Sharma lost his wicket at six runs on the ball of Abu Jayed. The day ended with India scoring 86 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal set a good unbroken partnership of 72 runs. The match will start with both the players continuing their partnership.
