Squad Analysis:

South Africa included three specialist spinners in their Test squad as the Indian pitches are more conducive to spin. Dane Piedt and Imran Tahir make their way into the squad to join Simon Harmer. Imran Tahir who has been their bankable spinner in Sri Lankan conditions could prove handy in Indian conditions too. AB de Villiers returns to the squad after being rested in the Test series against Bangladesh. Reeza Hendricks who was in the 15 member Test squad during the Bangladesh tour fails to make his place.

The Proteas also made some changes in their ODI squad as Wayne Parnell and Ryan Mclaren who was part in the Bangladesh series have been dropped. Skipper Ab de Villiers and Dale Steyn return to the squad after being rested during the Bangladesh tour.

The T20 side led by Faf du Plessis will see Khaya Zondo making his T20 debut. Marchant de Lange will also feature in the squad. Wayne Parnell who has been left out of the ODI squad has been dropped in the T20 squad as well. The left arm pacer Beuran Hendricks also fails to make his place in the T20 squad who featured in the Bangladesh tour.
