Former India batsman Wasim Jaffer has commented on South Africa’s chances of winning the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup. This year’s marquee ICC event will start in October and will be played in Australia. Not very long ago, South Africa were not seen as contenders for the tournament but it has changed after their recent performances.
Last month, the Proteas put up a stunning performance in England to register a 2-1 series win over the reigning 50-over world champions. South Africa came from behind to win the series. They won both the T20Is comfortably as they put up solid performances with both bat and ball. The Proteas won the second match by 58 runs before registering a 90-run win in the third game.
