South Africa vs Sri Lanka 2019: Kusal Perera Ruled Out Of The Remainder Of The Series

After the impressive run of form in the Test series, the Sri Lankan Team failed to repeat their magic in the ODI format of the game. They were outclassed by South Africa in the initial three ODI games thus losing out a chance to win the series. Meanwhile, they suffered a major setback, as they set to miss their in-form batsman Kusal Perera for the remainder of the series.
The flamboyant batsman, who played one heck of a knock in the Test series has suffered a left hamstring injury during the third ODI game of the series. Regarding the same, he will be returning back to the home thus missing the remainder of the series.
Alongside ODI games, he might also miss the 3-match T20I games for Sri Lanka as well. The fourth and fifth ODI of the series will be played on 13th and 16th of March at Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. The injury of Kusal Perera is a big dent, as he is one of their consistent run-scorers of the team.

The last night result means that South Africa wrap up the ODI series, and have now won each of the last four bilateral series between these sides. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, is yet to win a one-dayer in 2019 in six attempts.
Coming to the 3rd ODI game, it was once again Quinton de Kock, who scored a brilliant century for South Africa. The flamboyant batsman smashed 121 runs off 108 balls thus helping South Africa reach 331 on the board.
In reply, Sri Lanka’s chase was affected by the rain. Ever-Debatable D/L method saw them asking 118 runs off 48 balls. In the end, they were short of 71 runs to the target as per D/L method.
