Sri Lanka is in a good position at the end of the 3rd day of the 1st Test match against Pakistan. Sri Lanka finished their 1st innings after a score of 300. Pakistan in their 1st innings were batting on 118 with the loss of 5 wickets when rain came and play had to be called off.
The entire 1st day’ s play was afftected due to heavy rain and play could not be started from 2nd day onwards.
Kaushal Silva struck his maiden Test century and his knock of 125 helped Sri Lanka to get to a decent total of 300 as the Paskistan bowlers kept on taking regular wickets.
Pick of the Pakistan bowlers was left arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar and pacer Wahab Riaz who took three wickets each whereas spinner Yasir Shah and Mohammed Hafeez took two wickets each.
When put to bat, Pakistan lost early wickets in the form of Hafeez and Ahmad Shehzad both of whom were dismissed by dominant pacer Damika Prasad. Later spinner Rangana Herath removed Azhar Ali and during the close of the play Paskistan lost two of their most dependable and experienced batsmen Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan.
Younis Khan was looking set on the wicket when he was bowled by Perera and Misbah was dismissed Pradeep as he gave a catch to Sangakkara.
Pakistan is still trailing by 182 runs with 2 full days play left provided rain does not play spoilsport again.
