Recently it is a breaking news that a junior cricket team from Sri Lanka was sent back to their country due to some security concerns as said by some police officials. The team was Sri Lanka Under-15 Cricket team and had arrived from Colombo last night and they were resided in the city. And on today’s morning itself, it has become an official confirmation that they will not be allowed to participate in the tournament due to some security concerns.

They left for home as they were eliminated from the Under-15 tournament that was scheduled to be held from August 4th-7th. This incident came up closer to a national concern as there was an article wrote against the chief minister, Jayalalitha in the official website of Sri Lanka. The article also had a graphic image of the Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi.

The article on the Sri Lankan website made wide impacts in both the countries and also there arose some political outrage in the state which promoted Sri Lanka to remove the article and also issue an unqualified apology to the two leaders of Indian politics. In this context, a matter from 2012 came to light when a similar kind of thing took place. Jayalalitha ordered to send back a soccer team from Sri Lanka which had came to play a friendly match.

Also not only that, it is also known that an official of Nehru Stadium was suspended for granting permissions to organize the match.

This indeed is not a good news for the entire sport industry and also India-Sri Lanka has been involved in several sporting relations and shares some golden moments. This was indeed not good and as a matter of fact, Politics should be kept aside from the world of sports for the betterment of the games.
