Pradeep left the field on day 1 of the second Test, as soon as Sri Lanka took the new ball. He came into bowl 81st over and just after bowling four balls, he pulled off his hamstring and decided to walk away. It was said that he has just been ruled out of the Test but now, he is all set to miss the complete action.
The news of Pradeep being ruled out of series was confirmed by Dimuth Karunaratne in the post match press conference after the end of day two during which he said that the fast bowler is out for a month or two. This also means that Pradeep is all set to miss the whole India series, which includes ODI and T20I series as well.
Him being ruled out is a big upset for Sri Lanka as he was the star for his side in the first Test, where he snared six wickets in the first innings. Lack of support from the other resulted in India dominating the game, or else, the home side could have shown some resistance.

In the second Test as well, India hold a strong position as the Virat Kohli led side, after putting up a mountainous total of 622 on the board, has given two jitters to Sri Lanka on a score of 50 until the end of day two. The pitch has already started taking a vicious turn and R Ashwin led spin attack will look to exploit it to its best in the first session on day 3, so as to mark an early end to the game. It is safe to say that only a miracle can save Sri Lanka from taking control over this Test match.
