Stat Attack – Most LBW Dismissals In A Test Innings
Nov 19, 2016 at 12:51 PM
Out of the many modes of dismissals in cricket, the Leg Before Wicket (LBW) is one of the most regular ones. The Wikipedia defines it as – “Following an appeal by the fielding side, the umpire may rule a batsman out lbw if the ball would have struck the wicket, but was instead intercepted by any part of the batsman’s body (except the hand holding the bat). The umpire’s decision will depend on a number of criteria, including where the ball pitched, whether the ball hit in line with the wickets, and whether the batsman was attempting to hit the ball.”
So here is a list of Test matches with most batsmen lbw in an innings:
There are as many as 75 instances when five batsmen from a team were dismissed LBW in an innings of a Test. West Indies lead this list with 19 occurrences of such instances.
