The India National Cricket Team is scheduled to tour to Australia for three ODIs, four Tests and three T20Is between October and January.
Steve Smith has made a remarkable comeback to cricket after serving a year’s ban for the sandpapergate controversy that took place in South Africa in 2018. His 2019 Ashes trip to England will forever be considered one of the greatest showmanship in the history of the fierce duel between the two giant cricketing nations.

Now, Steve Smith has expressed his excitement on the Indian tour and said that he is all but charged up to take on his Indian counterparts.

“They are an amazing side and can’t wait to play them when they come out to Australia this year, will be something incredibly special,” Smith was quoted as saying in Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.

India’s tour will begin with a T20 International match on October 11 at Brisbane. The other two T20I matches will be played on October 14 (Canberra) and October 17 (Adelaide). The four-match Test series begins on December 3 at Brisbane.
India are then scheduled to play a day/night Test from December 11 to 15 in Adelaide. The third and fourth Tests will be held in Melbourne (December 26-30) and Sydney (January 3 to 7). The ODI series is scheduled to begin on January 12 in Perth, followed by matches on January 15 (Melbourne) and January 17 (Sydney).
Australia Recently Dethroned India As The Number 1 Test Team In ICC Rankings
Notably, India were dethroned by Australia from the top spot in Tests for the first time since October 2016 while Pakistan lost their No. 1 ranking in T20Is after 27 months at the top. In the ICC’s annual rankings update released on May 01, the Tim Paine-led side has jumped to the top of the Test standings ahead of New Zealand and India, with just two points separating the top three teams. Now, Gautam Gambhir has expressed his disappointment at the points system that ICC follows.
Although the Men in Blue lost the top spot to Australia in the ICC Test Team Rankings, they still dominate the ICC World Test Championship points table. Team India is currently the number one ranked team in the Test championship points table with 360 points in nine games followed by Australia, New Zealand, and England in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spot.
