Sudipta / 22 November 2015

Uttar Pradesh captain Suresh Raina on Sunday said they have figured out a special plan for Punjab’s Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh when  the Indian middle order batsman Raina will confront the Punjab duo at Green Park on Monday for a Ranji Trophy match as Uttar Pradesh will host Punjab.

With both teams stands at 17 points after six matches, Green Park will offer an exciting contest.

Suresh Raina has scored unbeaten 145 in the second innings of the Uttar Pradesh’s last drawn match against Tamil Nadu.

“Both Yuvraj and Harbhajan are very good friends of mine and I welcome them to the city. There’s no doubt that the two are great cricketers, but our team has certainly devised a special strategy for them which we will not tell but reveal on the cricket field,” Raina told reporters after the practice session here on Sunday.

Asked about Piyush Chawla’s from, Raina said that the spinner has done well with the bat and will certainly make the ball talk as well to help the team win the two remaining league matches.

Raina is also confident that pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s absence will not be a problem for his team. Bhuvneshwar is currently practicing with the Indian team for the third Test in Nagpur starting on November 25.  Raina said UP have a lot of talented youngsters in the squad.

With two wins and a loss, UP are in the reckoning for a quarter-final berth, while Punjab, who have placed a spot above the hosts at fourth in the table, also eye a last-eight entry.
