Sydney Sixers have signed a new three-year contract with England all-rounder Tom Curran. The English all-rounder had impressed in his stint at the Sixers. In fact, Tom Curran has played an instrumental role for Sydney Sixers in the ongoing season.
Curran played a significant role in getting Sixers to the semifinal of the Big Bash League eight season. The right-handed all-rounder has scalped 20 wickets in the ongoing season as he has impressed with the ball. Furthermore, Curran has also provided the finishing touches to the Sydney Sixers as he has scored 185 runs in this season.
Consequently, Tom Curran will represent Sydney Sixers in BBL 09, BBL 10 and BBL 11. However, Curran is not going to be available for the semifinal clash of Sydney Sixers when they will lock horns with Melbourne Renegades.
Curran has made the cut into England’s One Day International series against the Windies. Thus, the English all-rounder will join his teammates in the Carribean for national duty.
Meanwhile, England has already lost the three-match Test series as the hosts have taken an impregnable lead of 2-0. However, England has put their noses in front in the third and final Test match against the hosts.
England batsman Joe Denly said as quoted by the franchise website sydnersixer.com, “No one works harder on their game than Tom.”
“I think he’s only going to get better, which is great for the Sydney Sixers and great for England”.
Jordan Silk who has done a great job with the bat, said “He’s been unbelievable this season”.
Sydney Sixers will take on Melbourne Renegades at Docklands Stadium, Melbourne on 15th February in the second semifinal. On the other hand, table toppers Hobart Hurricanes will lock horns with Melbourne Stars in the first semifinal at Hobart on 14th February.
