Australia wicket-keeper batter Alyssa Healy has been ruled out of the entire Women’s Big Bash League season after suffering a finger injury. Healy has undergone surgery after being bitten when she tried to separate her two Staffordshire bull terrier puppies.

The wicketkeeper-batter suffered an uncommon injury to his index finger after a fight between her two pet dogs. She was taken to the hospital on Saturday night. Alyssa Healy did not play in Sunday’s Sydney derby against Thunder due to surgery and was eventually ruled out of the WBBL season.

Speaking to the media, Alyssa Healy expressed her disappointment at missing the remaining matches of the WBBL. She plans to focus entirely on her recovery process and will spend time with the Sydney Sixers squad, helping them with other aspects of the game.

“This is not the news I was hoping for because I love playing in the WBBL and I love the Sydney Sixers, My focus now will be on making a full recovery and returning to play when the time is right”.

“I’ll continue to spend time with the Sixers squad and offer any help I can to help the team and the club thrive for the rest of the competition. I’ll enjoy being able to watch the WBBL from afar as the tournament continues to go from strength to strength,” Alyssa Healy said.

The Sydney Sixers are struggling in the WBBL having lost all of their three matches so far in the tournament and they will take on Melbourne Renegades in the next game, where they will look to open their account in the points table.

In Meg Lanning’s absence, Alyssa Healy has been captaining the Australian women’s side, which includes the home white-ball series against the West Indies and she would be optimistic about making a comeback for Australia‘s multiformat tour to India, which is scheduled to begin in December.

Meg Lanning has been an integral part of the Australian Women’s Cricket team Australia is currently the most successful women’s cricket team and good at bringing their “A” game in big games. They are the reigning champions of the Women’s Cricket World Cup, the Women’s T20 World Cup, and the Commonwealth Games.
