Sydney Thunder vs Hobart Hurricanes – 21st Match – Hits and Flops

Today was the 21st match of the Big Bash League 2014-15. Hobart Hurricanes made the match look easy and had the control entire time and dominated Sydney Thunders. Hobart Hurricanes won by 5 wickets by D/L method. Here are the Hits and Flops of the match.

Hits of the Day

1. Jake Reed

Jake Reed was a phenomenal bowler today. He was the best bowler today and took the highest number of wickets and gave away very low runs and had the lowest economy. In just 4 overs he gave away 11 runs and took 4 wickets with an economy of 2.8.

2. Ben Hilfenhaus

Ben Hilfenhaus was another exceptional bowler today. He and Jake Reed totally destroyed Sydney Thunder batting. They together took 5 wickets. Ben Hilfenhaus took 1 wicket and gave 9 runs in 3 overs with an economy of 3.

3. Ben Dunk

Ben Dunk did score some good runs but scored valuable runs which were required. He scored 22 runs in 18 balls with a strike rate of 122.2 and hit 3 fours.

4. Daniel Hughes

Daniel Hughes although not a full time batsman scored the highest runs. It was him who was responsible for the runs scored by Sydney Thunder. He scored 26 runs from 22 balls with a strike rate of 118.2 and hit 1 six and 1 four.

Flops of the Day

1. Jason Roy

Jason Roy was really a disappointment for the Sydney Thunders. He was the opening batsman and didn’t score any significant runs today. He was dismissed by Jake Reed on the 5th ball and scored only 4 runs.

2. Aiden Blizzard

Aiden Blizzard was another disappointment for the Sydney Thunders. He too was dismissed by Jake Reed. He scored only 6 runs and was dismissed in the 5th over.

3. Michael Hussey

Michael Hussey was another disappointment. When his team need him the most he couldn’t deliver and scored only 9 runs. The skipper must pick himself up and come strong next time. He was dismissed by Evan Gulbis in the 9th over.

4. Jonathan Wells

Jonathan Wells went out for a duck. After the dismissal of Ben Duck he came to bat and didn’t impress any one. He was dismissed by Pat Cummins in the 6th over.
