Among many other noteworthy players, T Natarajan, who represented SunRisers Hyderabad, dazzled everyone with his outstanding bowling performance during the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. After Bhuvenshwar Kumar’s departure due to injury, SRH’s bowling department looked weak, but Natrajan’s yorkers had put the franchise in a dominant position throughout the tournament.
The 29-year-old executed perfect yorkers even though due factor had impeded many fast bowlers to execute them. And this has impressed the World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev.
In the recent interaction with Hindustan Times, the former Indian allrounder labelled Natrajan as his hero of IPL 2020. Kapil Dev was impressed with his fearless game, executing yorkers flawlessly though being inexperienced at playing at a high level.
“Natarajan was my hero of the IPL. Young boy was fearless and bowled so many yorkers. The yorker is the best ball, not only today but even in the last 100 years,” Kapil dev was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
T Natarajan earns maiden call from Team India following impressive IPL season:
T Natarajan notched 16 wickets in 16 matches at an acceptable economy rate of 8.02 in the IPL 2020. He had also featured in the 2017 edition but was not effective. He returned in the 13th edition with full perfection which followed with the call-up from the national team.
The promising cricketer was initially asked to travel to Australia as a net bowler with Team India but was included in the T20I side after Chakravarthy was ruled out.
Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had posted a video of him practicing in nets with the Indian team in Sydney. He might also play the maiden T20I series against Australia if gets in the playing XI.
Meanwhile, India will play three ODIs followed by as many T20 Internationals against Australia. After the completion of the limited-overs leg, the two teams will play much-anticipated four-match Test series starting from December 17.
