Tamil Nadu, Mumbai Cricket Board Protest Over Rescheduling Of Ranji Trophy Fixtures 1

Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) is set to lodge an official complaint to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) against the rescheduling of two Ranji trophy games between Gujarat and Bengal, Hyderabad and Tripura. Both games were canceled due to excessive smog in Delhi earlier this month. Instead of sharing the points between teams, the BCCI decided to reschedule the games and TNCA is all set to file an official complaint against this.

“Last year we lost almost four days due to rain against Gujarat; so many matches have been affected by fog, nothing was done then. In a league stage, you cannot do this; it will be a disadvantage to the other teams. It is an act of God, and you should have only shared points,” Kasi said.

“We are saying the matches should not be rescheduled and that points should be shared like in any match that is washed out. We have conveyed our displeasure to the BCCI. We will have a meeting with our president and office bearers, and then we will file an official protest tomorrow (November 28) mostly. After all, only two days of play had elapsed; they could have still completed the game on the third and the fourth day. It has happened in so many games in the past; it is not something new.”

Tamil Nadu is not the first cricket board who is willing to talk to the BCCI against this matter as earlier, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has also lodged an official complaint tothe board regarding this.

This is probably the first time in the history of Indian cricket when the BCCI has rescheduled the games. Ranji Trophy knockouts have also been pushed back by a week due to same reason.
